Learn how to pronounce my full name in the “More about me” section!

I’m a postdoctoral associate in the Organizational Behavior department at Cornell University’s ILR (Industrial and Labor Relations) School. I currently lead several research projects and teach classes on diversity management at ILR.

My research examines why people resist change, both within organizations and society more broadly. I am especially interested in the psychological antecedents of the defense of social inequalities and why people oppose both policies as well as individuals advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The projects I have led have thus far have been published in reputable peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Social and Personality Psychology Compass, Scientific Reports, and Social Issues and Policy Review. I also have manuscripts being prepared for submission to journals such as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.

My work thus far has been covered in media outlets such as Forbes and the APA Psychology Monitor.

Before coming to Cornell, I earned an MPhil and PhD in Social Psychology at New York University under the supervision of Dr. John Jost. Prior to my doctoral training, I earned an MA in General Psychology at NYU as a Fulbright Scholar from Pakistan.
